1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Amazon Rainforest Essentials (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit amazonrainessentials.com, place an order, or sign up to our newsletter.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at:

2. What personal data we collect
We collect different data depending on how you interact with the site:
When you place an order
- Name, delivery address, billing address, email address, and phone number
- Order details — items purchased, order value, order date
- Payment confirmation from our payment processors (we do not see or store your full card details — see Section 4)
When you sign up to our newsletter
- Your email address, and your name if you provide it
- Confirmation status (we use double opt-in, so we also record the date you confirmed your subscription)
When you browse the site
- Standard technical data collected automatically — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on site
- Cookie data — see Section 6
When you contact us
- Any information you include in an email or contact form, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Process and fulfil your orders, including payment, delivery, and customer service
- Send you order confirmations and delivery updates
- Send you newsletter and marketing emails, where you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email
- Respond to enquiries sent via our contact channels
- Understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it (via Google Analytics)
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations
Our legal basis for these uses is: performance of a contract (processing your order), your consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies), and our legitimate interests (site analytics, fraud prevention, responding to enquiries), in line with UK GDPR.
4. Payment processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe and PayPal. When you check out, your card or account details are entered directly with Stripe or PayPal — we do not store your full card details on our servers. We only receive confirmation that payment was successful, along with a transaction reference.
Stripe and PayPal are independent data controllers for the payment data they process. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle that information.
5. Newsletter and email marketing
Our newsletter is run through Hostinger Reach, our email marketing platform. When you sign up, we use double opt-in: you’ll receive a confirmation email, and we only add you to our list once you’ve clicked to confirm. This protects you from being signed up by mistake or by someone else using your email address.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email, or by emailing us at support@amazonrainessentials.com.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for the site and checkout to function (e.g. keeping items in your basket)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand how visitors use the site, using anonymised or pseudonymised data where possible
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works, including checkout.
7. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only with the third parties needed to run our business, including:
- Stripe and PayPal — to process payments
- Hostinger Reach — to send newsletter and marketing emails
- Our website hosting provider — to store and serve site and order data
- Google Analytics — to understand site usage
- Delivery and courier partners — to fulfil and deliver your order
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on their standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep order and transaction data for as long as needed to meet our accounting and tax obligations (typically 6 years). We keep newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe or request deletion. We keep contact enquiries for as long as needed to resolve them and delete or anonymise data when it’s no longer needed.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data, where applicable
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (e.g. unsubscribing from marketing emails)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@amazonrainessentials.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
10. Children’s privacy
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and our products are not marketed to children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
